Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

We ship within 1-3 business day of your order, usually the next day. Standard shipping takes 5–7 business days once your package leaves our facility, so you can expect your order in about 5–8 business days total.
You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order ships, so there are no surprises. If you need your order faster, we offer Priority shipping, which takes about 2–3 days, and Express shipping, which takes about 1–2 days, at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship to the United States and Canada. For other countries, we are working on expanding. If you are outside these areas, email and we may be able to work something out.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on orders over $50. Orders under $50 ship at the rates shown at checkout.

Can I change my shipping address after I order?

Once we have processed your order, usually within 12 hours, we cannot change the address. If you catch the mistake within that window, email with your order number and we will do our best to help.
If your order has already shipped, we cannot redirect it. Your tracking number will show the delivery address, and you may be able to arrange pickup or redelivery with the carrier.

What should I do if my package is damaged?

We are really sorry if that happens. Email with photos of the damage and your order number within 5 days of delivery. We will either replace it or refund you.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Not yet, but it is on our roadmap. For now, if you are gifting, let us know in the order notes and we will include a gift message card. You can also order one of our bundles, which are already beautifully packaged.

How do I track my order?

You will receive a tracking email with a USPS link as soon as your package ships. Click the link to see real-time updates. You can also log into your account on our site and view tracking from your order history.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with your order for any reason, email within 30 days of delivery with your order number. We will issue a full refund.
For returns, we will provide a prepaid shipping label. Just pack the item, drop it off, and once we receive it back, we process your refund within 5 business days. Some used products can be donated through beauty nonprofit partners, so nothing goes to waste.

Do I have to return the product to get a refund?

For unopened products, yes, and we will cover return shipping. For opened products, you can typically keep them. We care more about you having a good experience than getting the product back.
If you have questions about a specific item, just ask.

How long does a refund take?

Once we receive your return and confirm the condition, we process refunds within 5 business days. Depending on your bank, it may take 1–3 more days to appear in your account. In most cases, the full process takes about 1–2 weeks from return to bank account.
If it has been longer than 2 weeks, email and we will investigate.

Can I return items in-store?

We are currently online-only, so returns are handled by mail. Email to start a return, and we will send you a prepaid label.

What if I received the wrong item?

We are really sorry if that happens. Email with your order number and a photo. We will ship the correct item immediately and handle the return at no cost to you.

Product Use & Application

How often should I use the Hair Growth Serum?

Daily is ideal. Apply a small amount to a clean, damp scalp and massage it in. You can use it morning and night, but once daily, preferably before bed, is the minimum.
Results usually show up over 4–8 weeks with consistent use. Think of it like a supplement for your hair. Consistency matters more than quantity. A little bit every day is better than a lot once a week.

Can I use the Hair Growth Serum on wet or dry hair?

Both work, but damp hair is ideal. After shampooing, towel-dry your hair so it is damp but not dripping wet, then apply the serum. This helps the serum absorb into the scalp while distributing through your hair.
You can also apply it to completely dry hair. It just may not distribute as evenly.

How long do results take?

You may notice that your scalp feels healthier within a week, with less itching and more moisture. Visible hair growth typically appears in 4–8 weeks, depending on your starting point and consistency. By 12 weeks, many customers report noticeably stronger, longer hair.
Patience matters. Hair grows slowly by design. We are supporting that natural process, not creating magic overnight.

Can I layer the Hair Serum with other products?

Yes. Apply the serum first to a clean scalp, wait 2–3 minutes for it to absorb, then use your regular conditioner, moisturizer, or styling products. The serum works best as a base layer.
If you are using other serums or oils, start with ours because it is lightweight, then layer heavier products after. It fits easily into most standard hair care routines.

How much Hair Serum should I use per application?

Start with 3–5 drops. Massage it into your scalp using your fingertips. If you have a larger scalp area or longer hair, you can use up to 1 teaspoon, but start small because a little goes a long way.
A 100ml bottle usually lasts about 3–4 months with daily use.

Can I use the Body Butter on my face?

We do not recommend it. Our Body Butter is formulated for body skin, which is thicker and less sensitive. Facial skin is more delicate and usually needs a lighter formula. For this product, stick to body care.

How should I apply the Body Butter?

Use it on damp skin right after showering for best absorption. Apply a nickel-sized amount to each body area and massage it in. A little goes a long way.
If you want extra glow, layer the Golden Glow Body Oil on top. You can use Body Butter 1–2 times daily. It absorbs quickly and should not leave you greasy.

Is the Golden Glow Body Oil greasy?

It is lightweight and absorbs quickly, but all oils are oily by nature. If you have very oily skin, use less. If you have dry skin, layer it over Body Butter for maximum moisture.
It leaves a subtle shimmer, not a slick finish. If you are sensitive, test it on a small area first.

Ingredient Safety & Allergies

What are the main ingredients in the Hair Growth Serum?

The core formula includes African extracts such as Kigelia and Saw Palmetto, along with coconut oil, argan oil, biotin, caffeine extract, and essential oils such as rosemary and peppermint.

Is it safe for color-treated or chemically treated hair?

Yes. Our serum is safe for all hair types, including colored, permed, relaxed, and natural hair. Customers with color-treated hair often report that it helps support stronger, healthier-feeling strands.
The formula does not contain harsh sulfates or proteins that may compromise treatments.

Are there any ingredients I should know about if I have allergies?

We do not use sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, drying alcohols, or silicones in most products. However, we do use ingredients such as coconut oil, argan oil, and essential oils, which some people may be sensitive to.
If you have a specific allergy, email with the ingredient and we will help you choose the best option.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

All MR Essentials products are vegan, meaning they do not contain animal-derived ingredients, and cruelty-free, meaning they are never tested on animals.

Can I use this while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We recommend checking with your doctor or midwife before using any new products while pregnant or nursing. While our ingredients are generally considered safe, individual sensitivities vary.
Many customers have used our products during pregnancy with no issues, but when in doubt, reach out. We are happy to discuss specific ingredients with your healthcare provider.

Will this cause buildup on my hair?

Not if used correctly. Our serum is lightweight and absorbs into the scalp. It should not sit heavily on top of your hair. If you feel buildup, you may be using too much. Cut back to 2–3 drops and increase from there if needed.
We also recommend using a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove any product buildup. This is a good practice no matter what products you use.

Hair & Skin Type Compatibility

Will this work for my hair type?

Our serum works on all hair types, including straight, wavy, curly, coily, and type 2–4C hair. It is formulated with the specific needs of textured and natural hair in mind, but it is gentle enough for all hair types.
If you are unsure, email with a description of your hair and we will give you personalized advice.

I have a sensitive scalp. Is this safe?

Our formula is gentle, but sensitivity varies from person to person. If you are prone to irritation, do a patch test first. Apply 1–2 drops behind your ear and wait 24 hours. If there is no reaction, you should be good to use it.
If you do experience irritation, it may be from essential oils. Let us know and we can recommend a gentler option when available.

Will this help with hair loss or thinning?

Our serum strengthens hair from the scalp and supports healthy growth. Many customers with thinning report thicker, fuller-looking hair after 8–12 weeks.
That said, this is not a medical treatment. If you have significant hair loss, we recommend speaking with a dermatologist. Think of the serum as support for healthy hair growth, not a cure for baldness.

Can I use this with my prescription hair loss medication?

Generally, yes, but check with your dermatologist first. Our ingredients do not typically conflict with common hair loss medications such as minoxidil or finasteride, but everyone is different.

Does this work on all skin tones?

Yes. Our products are formulated with all skin tones in mind. The Golden Glow Body Oil, for example, shows up as a warm shimmer on all skin tones with no white cast or ashy residue.
Every product was developed with Black women’s beauty needs at the center, while still being made for everyone.

Subscriptions & Loyalty

Do you have a subscription option?

Not yet, but it is on the roadmap. For now, you can reorder manually. We will email you a reminder when your favorite products typically run out based on usage, and we offer a small discount to repeat customers.

Do you have a loyalty program?

Yes. Join the MR Essentials Rewards program for free. You earn 1 point per dollar spent, and every 100 points equals $10 off.
Members also receive early access to new products, a birthday gift, and VIP discounts. You can sign up on our site or through your account.

How do loyalty points work?

Every dollar you spend equals 1 point. When you reach 100 points, you get $10 off your next purchase. Points never expire as long as you are an active member with at least one purchase per year.
You can also earn bonus points during promotions, such as Double Points Days.

The Brand & Maya’s Story

Who is Maya Regi?

Maya is the founder of MR Essentials. She is a personal care formulator, entrepreneur, and Black beauty advocate. She started the brand in 2019 because she could not find products that worked for her own hair and skin.
Now, she leads a growing team dedicated to making premium, founder-backed personal care accessible and unapologetic. You can learn more on the About Us or founder bio page.

Why did Maya start this brand?

She was frustrated. After years of trying expensive products made by people who did not look like her or understand her hair, she decided to make her own.
After years of testing, formulating, and refining, MR Essentials launched. Now Maya is on a mission to prove that Black-owned beauty brands can be premium, profitable, and powerful.

Is MR Essentials a Black-owned business?

Yes. 100%. MR Essentials was founded by Maya, a Black woman, and is built for everyone, especially Black women and people of color.
Every product is formulated with us in mind, not as an afterthought, but as the primary customer from day one.

What does MR stand for?

MR stands for Maya Regi, her first and middle name. It is personal and intentional.

Where are products made?

Our products are manufactured in the United States by a small-batch production partner who shares our values. We oversee every batch for quality. This is not mass-manufactured. Each product is made with care.

What is your environmental or sustainability stance?

We are committed to reducing our footprint. Our bottles are recyclable, our packaging uses minimal plastic, and we are exploring refill programs.

How often do you restock?

Most items are always in stock. If something is out of stock, we usually restock within 1–2 weeks. You can sign up for back-in-stock notifications on product pages.

Is there a printable ingredient list I can share with my dermatologist?

Absolutely. Every product page has a downloadable PDF ingredient list. If you need a custom version for your doctor, email and we will send you one.
